One on One Tutoring For:

Beginners who want to learn the basics of computing are welcomed clients. I love creating an empowering environment where people learn that their computers aren't as mysterious and overwhelming as they seem to be. I also enjoy helping clients orient to Macintosh systems when until now they've only used PCs.
Suggestions for tutees:
- Stop when you get overwhelmed or frustrated
- Never think you have a question so simple that I haven't heard it before
- Make sure I know your learning style. Do you learn by doing? Watching? Writing it down?
- You're always allowed to decide, "I don't think I want to know how to do this after all"
Depending on what you want to learn to do with your computer, it could take several sessions. It's good to think of computer tutoring like piano lessons. No one becomes a classical pianist in one lesson, but that lesson can introduce basic concepts and ideas.
I can also help you learn how to navigate your iPod, digital camera, Palm Pilot, or home recording studio like a pro.
My main goals for tutees - both new users, and more experienced users that want to do more with their computers -- are to teach them how to accomplish what they wish to accomplish without frustration. This service is available for both adults and children 9 and up.
